Transform Your Kitchen-Episode #13-Trail Mix

People ask me all the time what I eat when I am on a road trip or out of town. My answer? I plan ahead and pack this Antioxidant Trail Mix!

Kid’s love this trail mix too–pack it for a school lunch or in the car on vacation.

Great recipe Dr. Axe! I sometimes use carob chips, goji berries, cashews, pumpkin seeds and unsweetened coconut in ours as well. The variations are endless!

Dr. Axe, Great video. I will be using this
recipe and passing it along to friends and
    family.
Also,I prefer my almonds with the skin
removed so I will be blanching them
since I believe they are cleaner and
less likely to have pesticide residue.
    Thanks

Mike, Great news on the pesticide front! We have a product that removes the waxy coating on fruits and veggies, nuts, meats, etc, etc. AND it pulls out the pesticides/herbicides and leaves the most wonderful, fresh-tasting food you can eat! There really is no product equal to it. We use it in our own manufacturing facilities. SunSmile® Fruit & Vegetable Rinse cleans dirt, waxy coatings, oily substances, and other undesirable residues from your fruits and vegetables. It even cleans delicate produce like broccoli heads, field greens, and herbs. I wouldn’t want to be without it! SAFE for all… corn and coconut base!

Great snack Dr. Axe! I also like adding dried cranberries soaked in apple juice.

  4. Josh O. says:

Where do you get the dried apples? Also, is it possible to make the sound a little louder, I had the volume turned up on my computer and on the video embed and it was still a little hard to hear. Thanks:)

  5. Ron says:

My variation: almonds, english walnuts, pecans, brazil nuts, dried apricots, dried cranberry, dried cherry and rasins.

  6. Angela says:

Josh O–you can buy dried apples at Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. Just make sure they have no sulfites or added sugar. :)
