It’s a New Dawn, It’s a New Day

I’ve had many people ask me when is the best time to exercise. The answer to that question is: first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Here’s why:

  • Your insulin levels are lowest in the morning, which aids with fat burning
  • Testosterone levels are highest at this time
  • Your body has the best compliance
  • Human Growth Hormone levels are increased
  • A morning workout will turn on your metabolism

Time Magazine found that 65% of people who wished they exercised more didn’t do so because they didn’t think they had enough time. This cartoon, however, sums up the reality for all of us…..

For 2 months, I have been doing a 30 min workout 4 times a week plus 2 days of running one mile (15 min max). It has made a huge difference in my body. I feel amazing and have dropped two pants sizes! It doesn’t have to take 2 hours a day! 30 min 3 times a week would work wonders. I encourage you to give it a try!

I’ve found that it’s easier for me to do my 3 mile run in the evenings, and have ran my fastest times, if I get out in the mornings and jog a mile to a mile and a half. Maybe it gives my muscles a kick start? Running in the morning does make me feel better and more energetic all day though. : )

Love the whole concept of nutrition, exercise and adjustment…excited to find someone who seems to really care about the health of his patients. It’s a process learning to make substitutions in cooking, and reading labels in the store, but will be well worth it in the end. Thank you DR. AXE for caring!
